My long arm quilt machine is now in the garage since we down-sized so I am waiting for some cooler weather.</span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-iOLccVcz7rU/YS0f9fdPPcI/AAAAAAAAEhM/Hf7yPNtWPIwgB47ocbAd71VUoyc6-MeswCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/IMG_2054.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-iOLccVcz7rU/YS0f9fdPPcI/AAAAAAAAEhM/Hf7yPNtWPIwgB47ocbAd71VUoyc6-MeswCLcBGAsYHQ/s320/IMG_2054.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><p></p><span style="font-family: verdana;">This first quilt is designed by Kaffe Fassett called Stone Log Cabin in the book, Kaffe Fassett's Quilts in Italy. I love the look of the quilt and the fabrics and bought a kit a few years ago. Funny thing is I am not fond of sewing borders on quilts and that is what this whole quilt was - around and around we go!! Oh well, it was easy and fun with all the gorgeous fabrics!</span><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-NuhLjnrGbaA/YS0abIxBYHI/AAAAAAAAEgQ/JhUno58iXO8OJxn5rfFfujv6W8EJGbZOACLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/IMG_2076.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-NuhLjnrGbaA/YS0abIxBYHI/AAAAAAAAEgQ/JhUno58iXO8OJxn5rfFfujv6W8EJGbZOACLcBGAsYHQ/s320/IMG_2076.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><span style="font-family: verdana;">This is using some leftover jelly roll strips from two Christmas quilts I made last year for the grandchildren. The pattern is Jelly Roll Twist and is free from the <a href="https://www.fatquartershop.com" target="_blank">Fat Quarter Shop.</a></span><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-I6_yITKC4GU/YS0abM46IdI/AAAAAAAAEgU/VFhCR72ixy8Xd0Uq5fqaMbxVJE1Se-wYgCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/IMG_2078.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-I6_yITKC4GU/YS0abM46IdI/AAAAAAAAEgU/VFhCR72ixy8Xd0Uq5fqaMbxVJE1Se-wYgCLcBGAsYHQ/s320/IMG_2078.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><span style="font-family: verdana;">I just figured this quilt design out again, using the leftover jelly roll strips and had a plan with the sets of threes and ended up using all but one set. I will back them both with flannel to be cozy when it turns cool this winter.</span><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-AeuWawjpluY/YS0adOA0PCI/AAAAAAAAEgg/VHSrQ6ZKPE85QKd0f08rj7gFYbObRj1DwCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/IMG_2086.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-AeuWawjpluY/YS0adOA0PCI/AAAAAAAAEgg/VHSrQ6ZKPE85QKd0f08rj7gFYbObRj1DwCLcBGAsYHQ/s320/IMG_2086.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><span style="font-family: verdana;">Again, leftover fabrics from Postcards from Sweden I made a few years ago. I'm glad I persevered!!</span><br /><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span><p></p>judith lockharthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00617076992866160667noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3111928670078084968.post-63317702173967309332021-05-03T20:06:00.004-04:002021-05-05T13:40:43.217-04:00Still Quilting and Cross Stitching Again!<p> <span style="font-family: verdana;">It has been quite some time since I did a post on my blog but I decided to try it again and see how it went. I have continued to quilt but I retired from being a long arm quilter a couple of years ago.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana;">In the meantime, in 2018, I took up cross stitch again and absolutely love doing that, too. I admit I must enjoy the process more than having it on the walls because I haven't had much framed but I think the pandemic played into that since that was just another place to go and we have stayed home a lot.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana;">Here is a quilt top I just finished. It is made from leftover dotted fabrics, mostly Kaffes and a few more thrown in to go with the other squares from older projects. Wanda Hanson from <a href="https://exuberantcolor.com/">Exuberant Color</a> has a great tutorial on how to sew these 16 patch blocks/quilts where all of the seams nest and it goes together so nicely! Made it a joy to stitch together! Thank you, Wanda! </span></p><p style="text-align: center;"></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WdANyzgtYRA/YJCPYMdGwgI/AAAAAAAAEcY/5M4fNtMDhIoNkqOGrV5gzzWBlbbXErMaACLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/1C49563A-D270-4032-A09E-9AB24E98D6D9.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WdANyzgtYRA/YJCPYMdGwgI/AAAAAAAAEcY/5M4fNtMDhIoNkqOGrV5gzzWBlbbXErMaACLcBGAsYHQ/s320/1C49563A-D270-4032-A09E-9AB24E98D6D9.jpeg" /></a></div><span style="font-family: verdana;"><div style="text-align: center;">And here is a close up! </div></span><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hNT2tamEu-o/YJCPYgIQ49I/AAAAAAAAEcc/URaHKJzVx40DKFirAc_oUYvm9OjwAMengCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/03F351CF-4D7F-4B00-8333-2DE657451254.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hNT2tamEu-o/YJCPYgIQ49I/AAAAAAAAEcc/URaHKJzVx40DKFirAc_oUYvm9OjwAMengCLcBGAsYHQ/s320/03F351CF-4D7F-4B00-8333-2DE657451254.jpeg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span><p></p>judith lockharthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00617076992866160667noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3111928670078084968.post-71250134496341677202018-07-19T09:20:00.000-04:002019-07-19T08:52:57.087-04:00Spring Quilting 2018<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Earlier this year I asked my sister in Texas what she was working on with her quilting and she sent me some pictures of really bright fabrics and I knew I had to join in. This quilt is Postcards from Sweden and is a free pattern from Robert Kaufman and <a href="http://jeliquilts.blogspot.com/2014/10/bloggers-quilt-festival-postcards-from.html" target="_blank">Jeliquilts</a>, made with Kona cottons.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I searched on Etsy and found a site where I could order the fabrics needed and in 3 or 4 days began the quilt! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-lhOEgnr1BcM/W1CHxod2jjI/AAAAAAAAETI/iPnix4KihaAVTx0gj9p-e12TEPV_29txwCLcBGAs/s1600/fullsizeoutput_5b96.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1449" data-original-width="1600" height="289" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-lhOEgnr1BcM/W1CHxod2jjI/AAAAAAAAETI/iPnix4KihaAVTx0gj9p-e12TEPV_29txwCLcBGAs/s320/fullsizeoutput_5b96.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The fabrics were all labeled with the color and number and all was very organized with making this quilt from the pattern. We swirled our seams and made the quilt come out very flat.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-IvAIJG_RQAA/W1CHppmuOWI/AAAAAAAAESo/4FJy01I-_-gU4DDqqGxZQQqaaknGXcSGgCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_1135.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-IvAIJG_RQAA/W1CHppmuOWI/AAAAAAAAESo/4FJy01I-_-gU4DDqqGxZQQqaaknGXcSGgCLcBGAs/s320/IMG_1135.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
A little swirly quilting and then it was finished.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
I saw this quilt in <u>Quiltmania</u> Magazine 124, called Fruit Slices, and wanted to try and recreate it with my own fabrics. These are from a fabric grouping.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-pWN9w2-xsBc/W1CLZb4JOZI/AAAAAAAAETs/nTaJYCPDr7gz7k5yqboo_5cj87C8uWKYgCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_1177.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-pWN9w2-xsBc/W1CLZb4JOZI/AAAAAAAAETs/nTaJYCPDr7gz7k5yqboo_5cj87C8uWKYgCLcBGAs/s320/IMG_1177.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I particularly liked the pink sashing and green cornerstones that separated all the ovals.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5JgsaqVjJQA/W1CLYYBBXgI/AAAAAAAAETo/vB2evN64hqE8btWpARFvfzt6qmTB-RgEgCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_1200.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5JgsaqVjJQA/W1CLYYBBXgI/AAAAAAAAETo/vB2evN64hqE8btWpARFvfzt6qmTB-RgEgCLcBGAs/s320/IMG_1200.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I chose all these fabrics from my stash - except the pink and green which I ordered and began cutting. I used the starch method for appliqué so it's been very easy sewing.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-RMNak28qOAc/W1CLc-S80rI/AAAAAAAAET0/xwvmQvWxuOItxW5dujnMWuSTgysSiVuFgCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_1318.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-RMNak28qOAc/W1CLc-S80rI/AAAAAAAAET0/xwvmQvWxuOItxW5dujnMWuSTgysSiVuFgCLcBGAs/s320/IMG_1318.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
These are my fabrics laid out before I began stitching. I'm now down to my last row of easy appliqué.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-9B7CqQLxizA/W1CLdPrlAcI/AAAAAAAAEUI/FUdZN3KmF4AlMsucQhwCwyxYCrul2z8FgCEwYBhgL/s1600/IMG_1347.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-9B7CqQLxizA/W1CLdPrlAcI/AAAAAAAAEUI/FUdZN3KmF4AlMsucQhwCwyxYCrul2z8FgCEwYBhgL/s320/IMG_1347.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And then here is a totally different type of quilt - Mini Havana - designed by <a href="https://www.fiberworks-heine.com/" target="_blank">Laura Heine</a>. Again, I could not resist at the Houston Quilt Festival so the whole kit came home with me. Quite fun to make and here is the finish!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-dmQnrom9ryM/W1CLdrjuvzI/AAAAAAAAEUI/yEZ3Qu1fk4wHrrZvujb82Q0uonkGypzTgCEwYBhgL/s1600/fullsizeoutput_5cc5.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="917" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-dmQnrom9ryM/W1CLdrjuvzI/AAAAAAAAEUI/yEZ3Qu1fk4wHrrZvujb82Q0uonkGypzTgCEwYBhgL/s320/fullsizeoutput_5cc5.jpeg" width="183" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I will be doing more of this type of quilting in the future!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-UPxXhomgZNs/W1CM-s7gu9I/AAAAAAAAEUY/puKFWOa6MCwA1OTQNTLV3wYFSXaKmg7BACLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_1413.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-UPxXhomgZNs/W1CM-s7gu9I/AAAAAAAAEUY/puKFWOa6MCwA1OTQNTLV3wYFSXaKmg7BACLcBGAs/s320/IMG_1413.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
My Primitive Garden is still in the making - six years later. I am working on the last large border but at least got the center put together. Don't you love these tiny stars?? They finish at 2" square but I decided they would be worth it in the sashing.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7NyfTSL-uEs/W1CNC7tAuWI/AAAAAAAAEUg/11QfdAED4wMhF-bGmo0GD38vxreveuWIQCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_1452.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7NyfTSL-uEs/W1CNC7tAuWI/AAAAAAAAEUg/11QfdAED4wMhF-bGmo0GD38vxreveuWIQCLcBGAs/s320/IMG_1452.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This is the center of my Primitive Garden quilt, the pattern is by <a href="https://www.primitivegatherings.us/" target="_blank">Lisa Bongean</a>.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
China Shop is now hanging in the stairwell so I can view it every day as I come up to sew!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
I made a round tablecloth using all Kaffe and Friends fabrics in my stash. The old and the new still went together so well.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
This was the Turning Twenty Again pattern by Tricia Cribbs. Always goes together well!</div>

I've let the grandchildren design their own quilts on my design wall and here is their latest! We stretched this one out a bit as what they can put up on the design wall in 45 minutes can give me a week's worth of work!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KVe8UVH_L5g/WtHyBLpdSNI/AAAAAAAAERU/wp6NW72W4bsgUgrrLwV1B99jA-qgIaI2QCLcBGAs/s1600/fullsizeoutput_5c36.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1081" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KVe8UVH_L5g/WtHyBLpdSNI/AAAAAAAAERU/wp6NW72W4bsgUgrrLwV1B99jA-qgIaI2QCLcBGAs/s320/fullsizeoutput_5c36.jpeg" width="216" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This is Jake's quilt! As he stated to his Mom, "It has a pattern to it". That was important to him. He was six at the time of this designing. It was neat how if he did not have enough of one fabric for his rows, he was okay with substituting something similar.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qjzxq1aW5Ww/WtHx8bCmHdI/AAAAAAAAERI/-Hqz349yvvoLoS2BG8vmJaAoGJItqofpQCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_1143.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qjzxq1aW5Ww/WtHx8bCmHdI/AAAAAAAAERI/-Hqz349yvvoLoS2BG8vmJaAoGJItqofpQCLcBGAs/s320/IMG_1143.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I found this great border fabric that I had been saving for a long time and it was just the right amount for the borders and the back.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zU-2ufqzy_E/WtHx7w2IuXI/AAAAAAAAERE/YDL1w7CMfwEDXQXibuk8CpdaWIRF0nIkgCEwYBhgL/s1600/fullsizeoutput_5c33.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1593" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zU-2ufqzy_E/WtHx7w2IuXI/AAAAAAAAERE/YDL1w7CMfwEDXQXibuk8CpdaWIRF0nIkgCEwYBhgL/s320/fullsizeoutput_5c33.jpeg" width="318" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Lacey is not as concerned about order as she is having fun. She did choose all her fabrics also - she is five. She did notice how the flower in the vase turned out matching near the center.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7y9DsI4Q37g/WtHx_wdsOnI/AAAAAAAAERM/K2NsDpHsaKodLJOlIB83vA-MITq69LhbACEwYBhgL/s1600/fullsizeoutput_5c34.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1585" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7y9DsI4Q37g/WtHx_wdsOnI/AAAAAAAAERM/K2NsDpHsaKodLJOlIB83vA-MITq69LhbACEwYBhgL/s320/fullsizeoutput_5c34.jpeg" width="316" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here is her back - other fabrics I had on hand and her border was leftover bindings that worked with her quilt colors.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-CRLVDWvG8lQ/WtHyAtZ0t9I/AAAAAAAAERQ/gDqquC1_m7kxg_ThKG7IHrPT6B4Dc8GEwCEwYBhgL/s1600/fullsizeoutput_5c35.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1311" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-CRLVDWvG8lQ/WtHyAtZ0t9I/AAAAAAAAERQ/gDqquC1_m7kxg_ThKG7IHrPT6B4Dc8GEwCEwYBhgL/s320/fullsizeoutput_5c35.jpeg" width="262" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I did a freehand swirl on hers.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-dT587SHXmhE/WtHzb9H7glI/AAAAAAAAERw/nWKwpVuHpZ4VQHsckrWlPA7kToQTpVF4gCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_1224.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-dT587SHXmhE/WtHzb9H7glI/AAAAAAAAERw/nWKwpVuHpZ4VQHsckrWlPA7kToQTpVF4gCLcBGAs/s320/IMG_1224.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Swirls from the front!</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Another Flower Garden block finished!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-HeEkhZ0zmec/WtHx71kVI7I/AAAAAAAAERc/WnmA5ejlSGQn5HE7eRD9IjxCqf9x6ivxgCEwYBhgL/s1600/IMG_1146.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-HeEkhZ0zmec/WtHx71kVI7I/AAAAAAAAERc/WnmA5ejlSGQn5HE7eRD9IjxCqf9x6ivxgCEwYBhgL/s320/IMG_1146.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I love the colors of this quilt!! Imagine that!! This is from Kaffe Fassett's book, <u>Quilts from Italy.</u> There are at least two in the book I want to make. For this one, however, I am making it a smaller size so it can be a wallhanging in our family room. It just looks like spring to me!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Happy Quilting and stitch when you can!</div>

This year I have been working - as usual - on completing some UFOs. This always happens comes January and this year was no exception except that I am actually finishing some this time. My goal is to finish one quilt per month.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I made a long list that I won't share for fear of embarrassing myself but here are my January and February finishes.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-H8zoEJRpIb4/Wr1lD4MWQII/AAAAAAAAEQM/4O4lGp4GGecBeEvEF91Y1NXDcgBIWUq9QCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_0881.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-H8zoEJRpIb4/Wr1lD4MWQII/AAAAAAAAEQM/4O4lGp4GGecBeEvEF91Y1NXDcgBIWUq9QCLcBGAs/s320/IMG_0881.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This is Color Works, the pattern being from Kathy Doughty's book, Mixing Quilt Elements. I had so much fun making this quilt and choosing fabrics, all which were in my stash. Some are Asian prints that have been aging for quite some time; some Kathy's own fabrics and stripes by Kaffe Fassett.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3LYJFxLYkRc/Wr1lDxnKFvI/AAAAAAAAEQQ/LOei1R3dKdIYMsR4w1aoewjFefYKMa7LgCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_0882.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3LYJFxLYkRc/Wr1lDxnKFvI/AAAAAAAAEQQ/LOei1R3dKdIYMsR4w1aoewjFefYKMa7LgCLcBGAs/s320/IMG_0882.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
My pictures could be better but I think that is what keeps me from blogging sometimes - waiting for great photos and finding a large place to take the pictures.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Tp9v0mvSvNE/Wr1lDTFKqRI/AAAAAAAAEQI/nCLKgZwa1Ho5y-wtLCAQV7DXSPzPlBJKwCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_0936.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Tp9v0mvSvNE/Wr1lDTFKqRI/AAAAAAAAEQI/nCLKgZwa1Ho5y-wtLCAQV7DXSPzPlBJKwCLcBGAs/s320/IMG_0936.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Next came the quilt you may recognize - Bonnie Hunter's Mystery Quilt from Nov 2017, On Ringo Lake. My sister and some of my friends were going to make it so I proceeded ahead, of course not knowing how many thousands of pieces there would be! I must say it is good therapy and even though I'm glad it is FINISHED, it was fun in the process.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-B9L9pfpeNJE/Wr1lGFL-XkI/AAAAAAAAEQU/2kuUd3vUvsIv88zmMK1_36km4X8KKsz2gCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_0940.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-B9L9pfpeNJE/Wr1lGFL-XkI/AAAAAAAAEQU/2kuUd3vUvsIv88zmMK1_36km4X8KKsz2gCLcBGAs/s320/IMG_0940.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Just hanging on the longarm here.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Py8VN63468A/Wr1lGq6YvlI/AAAAAAAAEQY/yGebZXvwoiMXLIY4c3clTUCGtqTV3ZgCwCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_0941.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Py8VN63468A/Wr1lGq6YvlI/AAAAAAAAEQY/yGebZXvwoiMXLIY4c3clTUCGtqTV3ZgCwCLcBGAs/s320/IMG_0941.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And a closeup picture. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I still have more to share but goodbye for now and</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Happy Easter!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

I'm still working on several long-term projects and do not have any finishes yet. . . . .however, I have a couple of new quilts that I've enjoyed making to share.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here is Scrappy Trip Around the World, a pattern given free by <a href="http://quiltville.blogspot.com/p/free-patterns.html" target="_blank">Bonnie Hunter</a> on her website. I saw a quilt on someone else's blog and it made me want to make this. I had been cutting 2 1/2" strips when I had a little fabric leftover from a project and not much yardage left so I had a plastic shoebox full of strips. Many different fabrics are included.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
I think Bonnie's was much larger but this is about 58" x 84". Even the border was leftover from a backing for my Lollypop Trees a few years ago. Just a simple pantograph with variegated thread and it was done!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1sGPlcx4-TQ/WcqduJPPfmI/AAAAAAAAEPI/-O2wX8ZT8T82AvvtxRXVXCmAUnWD2CiVwCEwYBhgL/s1600/IMG_0017.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1sGPlcx4-TQ/WcqduJPPfmI/AAAAAAAAEPI/-O2wX8ZT8T82AvvtxRXVXCmAUnWD2CiVwCEwYBhgL/s320/IMG_0017.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This quilt was SO fun to make. Now it made me think, contemplate, audition tons of fabrics and put them up on the design wall and a lot of playing but so enjoyable. I am quite pleased with it as I've done some improvisational quilting before and that is how this went. I was inspired by a quilt by Kaffe Fassett in his book Bold Blooms, called Gray Random Strips. I had the center piece like his but from there on, it was just trying to get the same look yet using my own fabrics and having fun.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-dJWh_EP-6Vk/Wcqdt3PM_DI/AAAAAAAAEPI/K6Pqy5FAfEMczw1hOKXKeQdMzdnkLoXTwCEwYBhgL/s1600/IMG_0021.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-dJWh_EP-6Vk/Wcqdt3PM_DI/AAAAAAAAEPI/K6Pqy5FAfEMczw1hOKXKeQdMzdnkLoXTwCEwYBhgL/s320/IMG_0021.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here are some tulips that go back into the early nineties or late eighties by Jeffrey Gutcheon - I still have that in several color ways but it worked well in this quilt. I finally had to make a trip to the quilt shop to get enough larger pieces for the borders.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RvQI1CgWUrs/WcqdtyuHK3I/AAAAAAAAEPI/VOVxtDYKx_IVwA1vNXTCS6P7vBMkbhivgCEwYBhgL/s1600/IMG_0022.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RvQI1CgWUrs/WcqdtyuHK3I/AAAAAAAAEPI/VOVxtDYKx_IVwA1vNXTCS6P7vBMkbhivgCEwYBhgL/s320/IMG_0022.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This backing by Laura Heine had been in my closet for years waiting to be used. It was just the right amount and I liked how it went with the very center floral in the quilt.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ta3i_aPy8Uk/WcqdxVrj_pI/AAAAAAAAEPI/e7Re5CHtf7MCcVQmOgzaAaSZnlUezwIngCEwYBhgL/s1600/IMG_0038.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ta3i_aPy8Uk/WcqdxVrj_pI/AAAAAAAAEPI/e7Re5CHtf7MCcVQmOgzaAaSZnlUezwIngCEwYBhgL/s320/IMG_0038.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I finished one more block in my Flower Garden quilt - pattern by Kim McLean. I think I've been working on that for five years.............oh well! Still pretty to me.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-khnh7X3M6zY/Wcqd0801hBI/AAAAAAAAEPI/hMSPor1w0D03r4EtKLZ51KJH89_sd8vngCEwYBhgL/s1600/IMG_9977.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-khnh7X3M6zY/Wcqd0801hBI/AAAAAAAAEPI/hMSPor1w0D03r4EtKLZ51KJH89_sd8vngCEwYBhgL/s320/IMG_9977.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
My daughter's family had to evacuate when Hurricane Irma came up the coast so they spent several days with us. The children had previously enjoyed having me cut squares and triangles with my Go Cutter and they chose their fabrics and their design - all by themselves. Nana sews them together later on and makes the quilts for them. Lacey, who is 5 made the design on the left and older brother Jake who is 6, the design on the right. He wanted a pattern to develop with his and he did it all by himself. If he ran out of fabric he'd just use another that was a similar color he said. We did have fun!!</div>

I mentioned earlier that I was doing the 2017 BOM with Sarah Fielke, <a href="https://www.sarahfielke.com/pages/block-of-the-month" target="_blank">Down the Rabbit Hole</a>, and this is my center. I'm a little behind - think I'm up to May now. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I just finished making 40 little tiny houses to go around the center. Very tiny - makes me think of the tv show, Tiny Houses. Right now I am ready for some appliqué after sewing those tiny 1" strips but they are cute and colorful!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Happy Quilting and maybe it won't be nine months before I do another post!!</div>

I've seen some blogs recently talking about working on 17 projects in 2017. Well, I began my list, even got a pretty template from <a href="http://kyleredente.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Kyle </a>to use, but decided it was not for me. First, I couldn't get the template loaded and 17 is a lot to work on.<br />
<br />
I am seriously trying to get some focus in my life - it seems with the age of computers, so much digital, social media, emails, everything instantly happening, that I feel compelled to try more than I'm capable of doing at the time. I am one who normally can focus but lately it seems I can't . . . so my goal this year is getting into focus in many areas of my life.<br />
<br />
Here is a quilt I made towards the end of 2016 for my niece in Texas whose baby just may be arriving today. We are waiting to hear - a girl we are told.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kgmxMRpOQEY/WHf70G-GZrI/AAAAAAAAENM/y2PtmPIJpgU-hp5tdG0kQqalR8Q-QMNNgCLcB/s1600/IMG_8124.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kgmxMRpOQEY/WHf70G-GZrI/AAAAAAAAENM/y2PtmPIJpgU-hp5tdG0kQqalR8Q-QMNNgCLcB/s320/IMG_8124.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
Some pretty batiks and machine appliqué with the blanket stitch.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EQ7CbjRihwI/WHf7zjLAZrI/AAAAAAAAENE/0IMbD6knhCA4H1awEvQcqttsnsqR7_lPgCLcB/s1600/IMG_8125.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EQ7CbjRihwI/WHf7zjLAZrI/AAAAAAAAENE/0IMbD6knhCA4H1awEvQcqttsnsqR7_lPgCLcB/s320/IMG_8125.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-lxAG5nE0dyo/WHf7z7uLR-I/AAAAAAAAENI/k509rfyX5YUOsoicPxy_PvuYMpZDSoOzgCLcB/s1600/IMG_8126.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-lxAG5nE0dyo/WHf7z7uLR-I/AAAAAAAAENI/k509rfyX5YUOsoicPxy_PvuYMpZDSoOzgCLcB/s320/IMG_8126.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WQjwd3kxhPw/WHf73qSUTfI/AAAAAAAAENU/21rnUAfTeXgy9-J_2a_2osYv0R4PisttwCLcB/s1600/IMG_8127.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WQjwd3kxhPw/WHf73qSUTfI/AAAAAAAAENU/21rnUAfTeXgy9-J_2a_2osYv0R4PisttwCLcB/s320/IMG_8127.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
She wanted a minkee backing so that's what I did - so soft and cuddly!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-CPAg8Cz3cg4/WHf73b21MHI/AAAAAAAAENQ/Onb6-E6IE7g_srtRU4C9xQwA-yxTRY59ACLcB/s1600/IMG_8129.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-CPAg8Cz3cg4/WHf73b21MHI/AAAAAAAAENQ/Onb6-E6IE7g_srtRU4C9xQwA-yxTRY59ACLcB/s320/IMG_8129.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Instead of putting 17 projects up to work on - which I may throughout the year - I'm going to start with some I'd really like to complete - and of course I have one new one going, too.<br />
<br />
My first to finish is below:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-33biNLR4Ftc/WHf81Vk4EQI/AAAAAAAAENY/b-jHY4RMtUo9KhyUIi4mccEAoJ7wVoEmgCLcB/s1600/IMG_7970.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-33biNLR4Ftc/WHf81Vk4EQI/AAAAAAAAENY/b-jHY4RMtUo9KhyUIi4mccEAoJ7wVoEmgCLcB/s320/IMG_7970.jpg" width="315" /></a></div>
This is my <a href="http://www.sarahfielkeblockofmonth.com/" target="_blank">Sarah Fielke BOM - Happy Days from 2016.</a> All that is left are the borders and I hope to get those made soon - some large triangles. It was a fun BOM - she had patterns to download and a video every month for us. She is doing another BOM this year - Down the Rabbit Hole - and there is still time to sign up for it. Patterns don't begin coming to you until the end of the month but she does give a cool line drawing to show you. Here is a link: <a href="http://www.sarahfielkeblockofmonth.com/" target="_blank">Down the Rabbit Hole</a>. Also, last year's BOM is available in book form just published - she even did three different color ways.<br />
<br />
Another quilt to finish is my Flower Pots - already put together, backing purchased, just waiting for this longarmer to get going on it . . . that would be me!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ftSYkm82rN8/WHf-UY9AzpI/AAAAAAAAENk/O2qdZrfrScYY2YxEJhMQJfljFvWmifImwCLcB/s1600/IMG_7255.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ftSYkm82rN8/WHf-UY9AzpI/AAAAAAAAENk/O2qdZrfrScYY2YxEJhMQJfljFvWmifImwCLcB/s320/IMG_7255.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
I got the sashing made last year.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-UU-D1bLOpXM/WHf-T2Hj26I/AAAAAAAAENg/rk13gevk-JI0HTNGV2Rb2lnVK562drAjACLcB/s1600/IMG_7256.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="305" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-UU-D1bLOpXM/WHf-T2Hj26I/AAAAAAAAENg/rk13gevk-JI0HTNGV2Rb2lnVK562drAjACLcB/s320/IMG_7256.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
It's going to be a lot of work with custom quilting.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-aNoEjhV2U9c/WHf-VnSTzqI/AAAAAAAAENo/XvN7nWPKhoULnLB7lJWXCUQ_4bbMzbMVACLcB/s1600/IMG_7509.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-aNoEjhV2U9c/WHf-VnSTzqI/AAAAAAAAENo/XvN7nWPKhoULnLB7lJWXCUQ_4bbMzbMVACLcB/s320/IMG_7509.jpg" width="318" /></a></div>
My next finish I'm looking forward to is my 2014 Di Ford Mystery Quilt, Mountmellick. Alas, I am on the next border and have prep work ready for the next which has some diamond and hexagons to English Paper Piece so it's not a quickie but will be beautiful.<br />
<br />
My <a href="http://quiltville.blogspot.com/p/en-provence-mystery.html" target="_blank">En Provence with Bonnie Hunter</a> is all cut and ready to stitch. Another finish I hope for this spring. I have a quilt retreat coming up so maybe that will help.<br />
Meanwhile, Happy Stitching in 2017 and I hope you can get your goals met this year!</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
I spoke of my pineapple Christmas quilt in the last post but failed to show a block - here is my one completed one with lots of scraps and very traditional in color.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
I am continuing to work on my <a href="https://www.primitivegatherings.us/" target="_blank">Primitive Garden</a>, started in fall 2012. Just a little slow but this is part of the top border . . .</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
Some hand stitching on the <a href="http://www.suespargo.com/index.php" target="_blank">Sue Spargo BOM 2014</a>, <b>In Full Bloom</b>, still in progress. I think this is block 8. One interesting aspect of her BOMs is you are NOT allowed to post any pictures for about a year and a half until her book/pattern is published.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-83y2Cz4Kmsg/WBji0SLBgSI/AAAAAAAAEMc/65Zoq1ySnBsxco3JGNem4jl5LVJDhrq-wCEw/s1600/IMG_7525.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-83y2Cz4Kmsg/WBji0SLBgSI/AAAAAAAAEMc/65Zoq1ySnBsxco3JGNem4jl5LVJDhrq-wCEw/s320/IMG_7525.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
But you actually are not working alone, as they always have a yahoo group where you can share photos but none to the public until published. Maybe a finish for next year. A real learning experience which I enjoy with her quilts because you are constantly learning new stitches by Sue. Beautiful wools and threads to work with also.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/--aQ9YOhcUWA/WBjirVvv8xI/AAAAAAAAEMc/2LixsmfYevYPUB8Brq9G60V3YvUbQ1BngCEw/s1600/IMG_7516.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/--aQ9YOhcUWA/WBjirVvv8xI/AAAAAAAAEMc/2LixsmfYevYPUB8Brq9G60V3YvUbQ1BngCEw/s320/IMG_7516.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And of course, if that doesn't look like enough quilting going on - here is another upcoming project - <a href="http://quiltville.blogspot.com/p/en-provence-mystery.html" target="_blank">The Bonnie Hunter Mystery Quilt 2016</a>, En Provence. Our group had such fun doing it last year that most of us have decided to try it again this year. Here are my likely paint chips, all like Bonnie's except for the turquoise instead of a green. I think I'll make the smaller size this year and it may be for my granddaughter since her room has many of these colors already.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Happy Stitching until next time!!</div>

<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-l_DpWk2RXRQ/WBCeorucMOI/AAAAAAAAEKw/C7Trtch5ILYsxk-1VH5MjImT_4BtXegowCLcB/s1600/100_8973.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-l_DpWk2RXRQ/WBCeorucMOI/AAAAAAAAEKw/C7Trtch5ILYsxk-1VH5MjImT_4BtXegowCLcB/s320/100_8973.jpg" width="284" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is my Dad - he was 94 1/2 when he passed away this month on October 6, 2016. He lived a long full life, loved the Lord, loved his family and enjoyed being the oldest in his family thus far. He still has two siblings in their eighties coming behind him. In fact, all the children in his family made it well into their eighties or nineties.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
He loved to sing as did all his family and began a choir at our church when I was growing up. Many people shared with us their love of music because of what he did to encourage others. He continued to play the piano - by ear - even into his nineties. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
He was proud of me for my abilities to sew. He'd tell people of how I made a suit when I was 14 years old and it looked like it was store-bought. Two days before he died I sat with him most of the day, stitching on a quilt, just being there with him.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My quilting has surely been my therapy these last few months as we had to take him to a memory care center for his dementia and severe aortic stenosis. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
However, as long as I could still stitch some, it soothed my soul and mind and continues to help me through difficult days. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
He is well now, with Jesus, my mother and so many others who have gone before him. I feel blest to have had such a wonderful father and be by his side as he drew his last breath here on earth. I've lived 1 1/2 miles from him for 16 years and shared many days with him. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here is some other family that was here during this time.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ZIYOIwySHpM/WBCeAksNIyI/AAAAAAAAEKs/z6E8qML7aRE8L_fV7i5C5ciJwRH9v-ewwCEw/s1600/IMG_7491.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ZIYOIwySHpM/WBCeAksNIyI/AAAAAAAAEKs/z6E8qML7aRE8L_fV7i5C5ciJwRH9v-ewwCEw/s320/IMG_7491.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Fortunately almost all our family was here with us for several days - here my son and his wife and daughter and grands!! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/--i3tt74meoQ/WBChxG3uGKI/AAAAAAAAEK8/ISQfnjsD1RQQOQPJIVjx0CAKwYH2gBocACLcB/s1600/IMG_7442.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/--i3tt74meoQ/WBChxG3uGKI/AAAAAAAAEK8/ISQfnjsD1RQQOQPJIVjx0CAKwYH2gBocACLcB/s320/IMG_7442.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My husband, Papa, and Jake and Lacey!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-R0bwSDIdYLk/WBCiElCH-DI/AAAAAAAAELA/5n7xdeKUYYEdGmKRYSxcWd7rTnsBc1tnQCLcB/s1600/IMG_7461.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-R0bwSDIdYLk/WBCiElCH-DI/AAAAAAAAELA/5n7xdeKUYYEdGmKRYSxcWd7rTnsBc1tnQCLcB/s320/IMG_7461.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
After my Dad's funeral, we all stopped at Fresh Air Barbecue in Jackson, GA, where we've been going for 50 years or so. So good!! There's still a lot to process and work to be done but I wanted to share this part of my life not really quilt related, but yet it is. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
When I was 14, my parents bought me a top of the line sewing machine for Christmas - A Singer Touch and Sew - with all the bells and whistles of that day. I had learned to sew at age 12 and truly have been stitching ever since!! How blest I was for this gift from them and the encouragement it gave me! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And here is where it has taken me!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-CiFX93xEQi4/WBCd9BGPjqI/AAAAAAAAEKs/TZ7XPYMxKrYxBn-hsOtUTGlneBHCWzrmwCEw/s1600/IMG_7369.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-CiFX93xEQi4/WBCd9BGPjqI/AAAAAAAAEKs/TZ7XPYMxKrYxBn-hsOtUTGlneBHCWzrmwCEw/s320/IMG_7369.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have been working on my Di Ford Mountmellick from 2014.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Two borders have been completed and there are two more to do.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Just a close up - I like the little hexagons in the corner.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-FX4CkCIB0V8/WBClE4Y-vyI/AAAAAAAAELQ/ObihCvGVuwEoXg_T5H7EXtfMQ6NSKvcNwCEw/s1600/IMG_7508.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-FX4CkCIB0V8/WBClE4Y-vyI/AAAAAAAAELQ/ObihCvGVuwEoXg_T5H7EXtfMQ6NSKvcNwCEw/s320/IMG_7508.jpg" width="319" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Another block from my Happy Days Sarah Fielke BOM. Only two more blocks and then the border to do.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-sU0qU-OzxS4/WBCd_Qxmr5I/AAAAAAAAEKs/l2X25AfYLv0horA9AhWmCgYv6IY60KUogCEw/s1600/IMG_7387.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-sU0qU-OzxS4/WBCd_Qxmr5I/AAAAAAAAEKs/l2X25AfYLv0horA9AhWmCgYv6IY60KUogCEw/s320/IMG_7387.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This project is a pineapple Christmas quilt. The papers here are from at least 20 years ago and somehow I continued to save them. I drew up the design I wanted to do in Electric Quilt 7.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-63UB3QKdYi8/WBCeAcMUPUI/AAAAAAAAEKs/qhTqzc7xQbIwddkkmmKpM6dA5vjMZ_hBQCEw/s1600/IMG_7388.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-63UB3QKdYi8/WBCeAcMUPUI/AAAAAAAAEKs/qhTqzc7xQbIwddkkmmKpM6dA5vjMZ_hBQCEw/s320/IMG_7388.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I'm using many strips that were already cut from a previous project that went by the wayside - it was a Bonnie Hunter mystery quilt for Christmas. Somehow, I never got more than step 2 done yet all my fabrics were ready for a project so here it is.. . . . . . eventually. . . . not this Christmas!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Happy Stitching!!</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
This is my Allietare completed - the Bonnie Hunter Mystery Quilt from last year. I did a straight border instead of scalloped like she suggested - a lot of stitching in this quilt but a feeling of accomplishment when it is completed - plus all the fun of sewing along with others on the same project.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2pp5YTv-4jg/V-lQH2oACLI/AAAAAAAAEJM/hYaw1CAVXaUj_p-K5YYK1gqjuHj-0mGvwCLcB/s1600/IMG_7094.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="317" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2pp5YTv-4jg/V-lQH2oACLI/AAAAAAAAEJM/hYaw1CAVXaUj_p-K5YYK1gqjuHj-0mGvwCLcB/s320/IMG_7094.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The following are blocks from my Sarah Fielke Happy Days BOM this year. I can't imagine how these are all going to look together. I am depending on some 24 stars not shown to pull this all together, plus the borders. Wow, is it bright and colorful!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VLXJ1MhtZ7Q/V-lQHmJzG9I/AAAAAAAAEJI/QIJRwthByBQKFl6pITblxiiPQASaF9btgCLcB/s1600/IMG_7133.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="319" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VLXJ1MhtZ7Q/V-lQHmJzG9I/AAAAAAAAEJI/QIJRwthByBQKFl6pITblxiiPQASaF9btgCLcB/s320/IMG_7133.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Many different techniques were used. Above were hexagons that were large enough I used the "starch appliqué" method instead of glue or hand basting. It worked great.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3HBnmgH2pu0/V-lQKbpVbeI/AAAAAAAAEJU/89l_ZxO-k1cxrxVkBK7_RiTl_qQTH5C0ACLcB/s1600/IMG_7134.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3HBnmgH2pu0/V-lQKbpVbeI/AAAAAAAAEJU/89l_ZxO-k1cxrxVkBK7_RiTl_qQTH5C0ACLcB/s320/IMG_7134.jpg" width="315" /></a></div>

I'm still wondering how this orange block will fit in with the rest - a difficult appliqué block but like eating an elephant - one "stitch at a time" got it done and many many hours! I'm hoping all the other spots of orange will make it blend well. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
I think this was Gerry's also! Very pretty soft colors - reminds me of Robyn Randolph fabrics from years ago - and they may be! Happy Stitching!!</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Another really long-term project I have going is the <a href="http://gloriouscolor.com/" target="_blank">Flower Garden by Kim McLean</a>. It may take me longer than my Lollypop Trees did! But, ever so often I finish another block.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-NGIO_Wuqra8/V-K_KkJSLCI/AAAAAAAAEII/XpThh6yIB3EYahxZqVSf6DeCejok8pg8QCLcB/s1600/IMG_7242.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-NGIO_Wuqra8/V-K_KkJSLCI/AAAAAAAAEII/XpThh6yIB3EYahxZqVSf6DeCejok8pg8QCLcB/s320/IMG_7242.jpg" width="213" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have learned something about myself recently - or actually faced up to the fact that I enjoy "kitting quilts" possibly more than sewing them. Always being afraid I won't have any handwork ready, I will get a whole quilt ready for appliqué and then it lays in its container for possibly years, waiting to be stitched. So as of now, I have months/years worth of appliqué all ready for stitching. I am trying to make a dent in it now. These flower garden blocks have been ready for quite some time!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YvKWf3k0O4A/V-LAlXQSbfI/AAAAAAAAEIc/oW9k9EJWokgHJXYhe1toc1iGAz5Z-8X6gCLcB/s1600/IMG_7255.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YvKWf3k0O4A/V-LAlXQSbfI/AAAAAAAAEIc/oW9k9EJWokgHJXYhe1toc1iGAz5Z-8X6gCLcB/s320/IMG_7255.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Speaking of a quilt waiting for a finish - this is Flower Pots by Kim McLean. I began it in September 2010, six years ago. Now I got the appliqué completed but was putting off the sashing, also knowing that the blocks did not come out to the size indicated on the pattern so I was going to have to make an adjustment. Procrastinate . . . procrastinate . . .I finally solved this 'problem' by restitching a couple of bird tails and was able to proceed. I spent a week recently sewing the sashing and putting the top together and now it is ready for quilting. My backing just came in the mail today!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-5kPemBR2BC8/V-LAlZPESRI/AAAAAAAAEIY/tZu9WOmEeNEkN4t_yPFtzx1cpNP5NuEpQCLcB/s1600/IMG_7256.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="305" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-5kPemBR2BC8/V-LAlZPESRI/AAAAAAAAEIY/tZu9WOmEeNEkN4t_yPFtzx1cpNP5NuEpQCLcB/s320/IMG_7256.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here is a partial picture of the top - the bottom half. Just gorgeous fabrics to me and I'll admit to trying to match mine to the pattern picture - that can be fun and a challenge in itself.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-QI4FoTh7rY8/V-K_MFjFISI/AAAAAAAAEIM/GGxS-J3cZR4cQWDNe308XfoDVnJCY3uhQCLcB/s1600/IMG_7271.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="260" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-QI4FoTh7rY8/V-K_MFjFISI/AAAAAAAAEIM/GGxS-J3cZR4cQWDNe308XfoDVnJCY3uhQCLcB/s320/IMG_7271.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
As you know, I'm a fan of Kaffe Fassett fabrics and this quilt pattern was published in <a href="http://www.homespun.net.au/" target="_blank">Homespun </a>- an online magazine. It was designed by Kathy Doughty of <a href="http://www.materialobsession.com.au/" target="_blank">Material Obsession </a>quilt shop in Australia and her team which worked with Kaffe Fassett. In 2015 the patterns were published monthly so I subscribed. I ended up buying the kit for the fabrics from <a href="http://gloriouscolor.com/" target="_blank">glorious color.com </a>and made the quilt this spring and summer. I did all the appliqué on the machine and bonded the outer edge of the fabrics with Lite Steam a Seam 2. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Love the fabric choices and combinations!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-IMP7KYHVpGA/V-K_JhsXrAI/AAAAAAAAEIQ/OyVTibAzPhsKj68kvFgccgCHPHFw3TDkgCEw/s1600/IMG_7102.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-IMP7KYHVpGA/V-K_JhsXrAI/AAAAAAAAEIQ/OyVTibAzPhsKj68kvFgccgCHPHFw3TDkgCEw/s320/IMG_7102.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
There were several techniques used, including lots of hexagon flowers in the side blocks of the center. I did hand stitch all of those together then machine appliquéd them down. The platter had hexagons around it also.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yHs2LfQS2LQ/V-K_KeGVXMI/AAAAAAAAEIQ/b9SWAaJraqsDCFwVCZgplv7dWliBBwWHQCEw/s1600/IMG_7103.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yHs2LfQS2LQ/V-K_KeGVXMI/AAAAAAAAEIQ/b9SWAaJraqsDCFwVCZgplv7dWliBBwWHQCEw/s320/IMG_7103.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here is more of a close up of the hexagons on the right. I still have a little more to show but I'll save that for another post!! Happy Stitching!! It is GREAT therapy!!</div>

It's been a while since I blogged so I'm going to pick up where I left off in March. Life has been busy and it's easy not to blog or think no one is reading anyway with so much other social media. But, this also helps me keep up with my quilting to see when I made things so here goes!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
This is my stack of circles I worked on early in the year. I finally realized I was getting little else done even though I liked the project so stopped at around 100, which will make a nice wall hanging. This was from <a href="http://quiltyfolk.blogspot.com/p/quilty-365.html" target="_blank">Quilty Folk</a>.</div>

Our quilt group had a retreat at Mexico Beach, Florida, since one of our members moved there to retire. We had a great area for sewing - the clubhouse of the neighborhood. Only four of us were able to be there so we missed the others but were able to share with texting, etc. Above is one of the blocks from my <a href="http://www.sarahfielke.com/" target="_blank">Sarah Fielke BOM 2016 - Happy Days.</a> </div>

<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0R1ITJz25Yg/VvE9cwzHijI/AAAAAAAAEFU/qNVBXwJ4X4U7qHuIB5yRSdG_G6BP2gQeQ/s1600/IMG_6711.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0R1ITJz25Yg/VvE9cwzHijI/AAAAAAAAEFU/qNVBXwJ4X4U7qHuIB5yRSdG_G6BP2gQeQ/s320/IMG_6711.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here is Allietare, the Bonnie Hunter Mystery Quilt 2015. It was supposed to be my February finish and it came close. All is done but the binding and I must find a red that works and just haven't gotten that purchased. I went scrappy on my narrow gold border but I want the binding to be one fabric.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Dj8QkhGi1YQ/VvE9XYlg5dI/AAAAAAAAEFE/9K_hqKAQP_4t3mi864CUah_cQM6Sf4Xww/s1600/IMG_6698.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Dj8QkhGi1YQ/VvE9XYlg5dI/AAAAAAAAEFE/9K_hqKAQP_4t3mi864CUah_cQM6Sf4Xww/s320/IMG_6698.jpg" width="318" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here is the appliqué! More circles - these are just a few I've sewn. Think I'm up to about 45 now and I began on February 28. My goal is to make 366 this year so I am playing catch up. Just can't help needing to have it all in one year.............crazy, isn't it?? They are fun and easy though. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I am now moving into my Kaffe Fassett box as can be seen on the top right and bottom left. The bottom left is one of my favorites. It was used in <a href="http://quiltingbyjudith.blogspot.com/search/label/Lollypop%20Trees" target="_blank">Lollypop Trees</a> and I think even reprinted years later. The tulips on the bottom right - of which I have about seven color ways, were a Jeffrey Gutcheon fabric from the early nineties I think. I just loved all those pretty tulips.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-HCNtGWxKNKo/VvE9a2iZIBI/AAAAAAAAEFI/86Z_V2AZaxIZuDFiS5rSHW13bHwiBuMBQ/s1600/IMG_6699.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-HCNtGWxKNKo/VvE9a2iZIBI/AAAAAAAAEFI/86Z_V2AZaxIZuDFiS5rSHW13bHwiBuMBQ/s320/IMG_6699.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here is some finished appliqué from my <a href="http://www.sarahfielke.com/" target="_blank">Sarah Fielke BOM, Happy Days</a>. I used the starch method for appliqué so it's a good bit of prep time but it sure makes it easy to stitch once you get that done.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-bPKgeLOfEQM/VvE9bPhZKFI/AAAAAAAAEFM/LxMdArUbuZUOwVpOgNMF5PhoA5NLMHfzA/s1600/IMG_6700.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-bPKgeLOfEQM/VvE9bPhZKFI/AAAAAAAAEFM/LxMdArUbuZUOwVpOgNMF5PhoA5NLMHfzA/s320/IMG_6700.jpg" width="203" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here are more waiting to be stitched. It was fun choosing all the colorful leaves and arranging them.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ad1QtS1-bZE/VvE9bnodmtI/AAAAAAAAEFQ/eps97ZIeAq0m1Vjd4Bm1rOGNSidzh7QuA/s1600/IMG_6701.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ad1QtS1-bZE/VvE9bnodmtI/AAAAAAAAEFQ/eps97ZIeAq0m1Vjd4Bm1rOGNSidzh7QuA/s320/IMG_6701.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I used a very unusual background - low volume - which I still wonder about but in the grand scheme of things, I think it will be fine. It's going to be a large quilt and these are just a few wreaths along the borders. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Rr-0IbFGMa4/VvE9W0-MTQI/AAAAAAAAEFY/CFOI_DXUMA8C68bXQOudbobCnA_SltaWA/s1600/IMG_6587.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="319" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Rr-0IbFGMa4/VvE9W0-MTQI/AAAAAAAAEFY/CFOI_DXUMA8C68bXQOudbobCnA_SltaWA/s320/IMG_6587.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This is the pieced block for the second month. A challenge to put together but I am happy with the results.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ga2EiPqYhB8/VvE9XDpwK0I/AAAAAAAAEFY/0Whh4v4Vks8U0PHgLbGa5XRJnJBl37eJg/s1600/IMG_6569.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="314" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ga2EiPqYhB8/VvE9XDpwK0I/AAAAAAAAEFY/0Whh4v4Vks8U0PHgLbGa5XRJnJBl37eJg/s320/IMG_6569.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
One day I had the idea of making two BOM quilts so I pulled fabrics together and came up with this block. Once I received all the appliqué on the second month, I came back to reality and said no. I have way too many other things to finish but I like the block. I'll figure out somewhere to use it one day!</div>

I kept looking at all the circles being made by others who had joined in the <a href="http://quiltyfolk.blogspot.com/2015/11/quilty-365-year-long-quilting-journey.html" target="_blank">Quilty 365</a> and decided to join in. My personal deadline was February 29, since this year, there will be 366 days. Just think it's sort of cool and knew I had to begin by then. So here goes . . .<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XRwHpciibUA/VtYK9VStjEI/AAAAAAAAEEk/Guc3884BPPY/s1600/IMG_6576.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XRwHpciibUA/VtYK9VStjEI/AAAAAAAAEEk/Guc3884BPPY/s320/IMG_6576.jpg" width="288" /></a></div>
For now, I am using fabrics from my stash that are mostly scraps. Many I can remember what quilt they may have been in or that I've had them for 20+ years or just liked the colors. So, I'll say this quilt will be a memory quilt in some ways. I began using some low volume fabrics for the background but since my circle is so large, very little of that will be seen. So now I'm rethinking the size of some of the circles. But can I handle more than one size?? I don't know. This tells a lot about my personality I suppose. . .we'll see.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yfDYVYg-C1w/VtYK9JY-giI/AAAAAAAAEEg/lCoqF4V3q28/s1600/IMG_6578.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="306" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yfDYVYg-C1w/VtYK9JY-giI/AAAAAAAAEEg/lCoqF4V3q28/s320/IMG_6578.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Here are a few more already cut and ready to be starched with the appliqué method I am using which makes the stitching go very quickly. I also pulled quite a few cream on cream fabrics for backgrounds that my mother-in-law had left from some beautiful pillows she had made, doing crazy patches with embroidery on them. . . .more memories!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Ifqv_n4Oo5k/VtYK5qciiVI/AAAAAAAAEEY/kPxWE8YSzW4/s1600/IMG_6560.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Ifqv_n4Oo5k/VtYK5qciiVI/AAAAAAAAEEY/kPxWE8YSzW4/s320/IMG_6560.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
At first I could not decide on my background so I had a large piece of gray fabric. I made a hand drawn circle - it looks like a misshapen rock - and put it on the gray. It just had no life to it so I tried some other backgrounds as you see below . . .<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ajGO7yUjZAQ/VtYK5z7uTkI/AAAAAAAAEEc/Tu2ZLLPnt7M/s1600/IMG_6562.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ajGO7yUjZAQ/VtYK5z7uTkI/AAAAAAAAEEc/Tu2ZLLPnt7M/s320/IMG_6562.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
This was good . . .<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-eSCHI-w8BqE/VtYK5uDRX2I/AAAAAAAAEEU/tHOsTCiwaUU/s1600/IMG_6564.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-eSCHI-w8BqE/VtYK5uDRX2I/AAAAAAAAEEU/tHOsTCiwaUU/s320/IMG_6564.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
So was this . . .<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-tuIA6JoRmfg/VtYK91g98aI/AAAAAAAAEEo/8s3uHe5P4Z4/s1600/IMG_6566.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-tuIA6JoRmfg/VtYK91g98aI/AAAAAAAAEEo/8s3uHe5P4Z4/s320/IMG_6566.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
and this . . .but for some reason the odd shape circle just did not work for me. I got my scrapbook circle cutter out and made my own circles with freezer paper and templar plastic to get going. It's working for me now . . .I'm thinking of an on-point layout. . .<br />
I am such an assembly line person, that I had to get a stack of them to sew instead of picking and choosing one a day. Of course, it's up to each individual but it's great fun to look at the others and see their progress. Here is a <a href="http://quiltyfolk.blogspot.com/2016/02/march-quilty-365-linkup.html" target="_blank">link</a> for more circles!!<br />

<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DmaytKfRkfM/Vs4cfwlrADI/AAAAAAAAEDM/AyJ_RPFh3rE/s1600/IMG_6515.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DmaytKfRkfM/Vs4cfwlrADI/AAAAAAAAEDM/AyJ_RPFh3rE/s320/IMG_6515.jpg" width="319" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Everywhere I turn, there are online BOMs to tempt me! Some free and some for a fee. Since I am such a fan of Sarah Fielke's quilts, I chose hers. It's not even too late to begin, as the first pattern just came out the last of January and it's pretty simple - above. <a href="http://www.sarahfielke.com/29/block-of-the-month" target="_blank">Here</a> is the link to this BOM.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-PD44iba0Ppw/Vs4cpcXawNI/AAAAAAAAEDY/Z1hRzTYwcmw/s1600/IMG_6549.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="318" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-PD44iba0Ppw/Vs4cpcXawNI/AAAAAAAAEDY/Z1hRzTYwcmw/s320/IMG_6549.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
She shows three different color ways and since this happened to be one of my favorites right now, I chose it. Of course, you can do anything you like but I like the aqua and pinks and greens.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6hSWO0maGgQ/Vs4co0A6BuI/AAAAAAAAEDU/k0BR_lIe16Y/s1600/IMG_5817.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6hSWO0maGgQ/Vs4co0A6BuI/AAAAAAAAEDU/k0BR_lIe16Y/s320/IMG_5817.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here is my quilt, <a href="http://quiltingbyjudith.blogspot.com/2015/10/botanical-garden.html" target="_blank">Botanical Gardens</a>, I did last year from her book below. She makes happy quilts that make you smile!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-NtK8OytVHps/Vs4ckNsvQNI/AAAAAAAAEDQ/q9kxCRq9Av0/s1600/IMG_4739.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-NtK8OytVHps/Vs4ckNsvQNI/AAAAAAAAEDQ/q9kxCRq9Av0/s320/IMG_4739.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This is just one of her many books!<br />
Stitch when you can!</div>

<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-5x2FRVnVgS4/VsM2917327I/AAAAAAAAECs/EsBPXsno3mU/s1600/IMG_6510.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-5x2FRVnVgS4/VsM2917327I/AAAAAAAAECs/EsBPXsno3mU/s320/IMG_6510.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here are some borders of the Di Ford Mountmellick 2014 Mystery Quilt. I now have this appliqué ready for stitching.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FaWMOf8UGf4/VsNCNRWfw2I/AAAAAAAAEC8/wjLapOX7qdI/s1600/IMG_6511.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FaWMOf8UGf4/VsNCNRWfw2I/AAAAAAAAEC8/wjLapOX7qdI/s320/IMG_6511.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
The little hexagons went together well and I did use a suggestion from <a href="https://www.primitivegatherings.us/" target="_blank">Lisa Bongean</a> in one of her recent posts. She said quilters need to use darker threads so the light thread does not show through so I followed her advice and probably went a couple of shades darker than I might have. It worked! Now the paper is removed and they are 'glued down' with Roxanne's glue to hold them in place while I stitch.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
My stems are already stitched.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lW8iryASoz4/VsM27pQinOI/AAAAAAAAECk/tD6PKJ-Sq74/s1600/IMG_6505.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lW8iryASoz4/VsM27pQinOI/AAAAAAAAECk/tD6PKJ-Sq74/s320/IMG_6505.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here is a little of the process. I most often have done needle turn appliqué with the freezer paper still on the top to use as my guide - no marking on the fabric, no glue, etc, but you have to continually put your overlay on the block for placement. With the starch appliqué method, you can lay it all out, glue baste in place with tiny dots to hold it down and stitch. I like that part of it.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Since this is a tight border, I decided this method would work best.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Above you can see my new Clover iron. No steam, 3 settings and it is small. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-98ekyceFXGA/VsM27chqCrI/AAAAAAAAECg/HwIGJrotPrs/s1600/IMG_6506.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-98ekyceFXGA/VsM27chqCrI/AAAAAAAAECg/HwIGJrotPrs/s320/IMG_6506.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have never mastered using the tiny Clover iron many people use so this seems perfect for me. Before, I used a small travel iron I had. I get better control with this. I have my spray starch in the lid with my little stencil brush. Under my muslin is a teflon pressing sheet so my ironing board is not absorbing all the liquid going on the muslin.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-iJaEJ9QDM5M/VsM28U8JTgI/AAAAAAAAECo/JAipZkXFt7k/s1600/IMG_6509.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-iJaEJ9QDM5M/VsM28U8JTgI/AAAAAAAAECo/JAipZkXFt7k/s320/IMG_6509.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here are some leaves that are starched. I remove the paper (three layers of freezer paper) and press flat again before I glue them onto the background fabric. It is suggested that you rinse the appliqué in water before you proceed to get rid of the glue and starch. Now I have some good handwork to do for a few evenings!! Happy Stitching!</div>

<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-HBLLWSHfY1M/VrrK4qqTQJI/AAAAAAAAEB0/qMxc3yX7JH0/s1600/IMG_6443.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-HBLLWSHfY1M/VrrK4qqTQJI/AAAAAAAAEB0/qMxc3yX7JH0/s320/IMG_6443.jpg" width="215" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I purchased a jelly roll of the Gardenvale fabrics by Jen Kingwell for Moda. I thought they would work for the Gypsy Wife quilt but once I got the fabric and tried to put it with other things I had, it was just not working.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bc5zev1GHfs/VrrK4pHVvhI/AAAAAAAAEB4/lBSPCYA_194/s1600/IMG_6445.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bc5zev1GHfs/VrrK4pHVvhI/AAAAAAAAEB4/lBSPCYA_194/s320/IMG_6445.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Meanwhile I quilted a quilt for a customer that had this pattern - I have no idea what it was called but I realized it was so easy and I could use a jelly roll since the strips were 2" finished. I sewed my </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
2 1/2" strips together in coordinating pairs, cut them 4 1/2" long and pieced them as shown below.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-mKL15l0LqA8/VrrK4oei4WI/AAAAAAAAEBw/Kz_VpOsN0b8/s1600/IMG_6447.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-mKL15l0LqA8/VrrK4oei4WI/AAAAAAAAEBw/Kz_VpOsN0b8/s320/IMG_6447.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I used the whole jelly roll. There were some blocks where the sets were not all identical but that just added to the variety to me.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-E7UOHl8JRFA/VrrK6fUxW9I/AAAAAAAAEB8/xOKhWh7kEcU/s1600/IMG_6453.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-E7UOHl8JRFA/VrrK6fUxW9I/AAAAAAAAEB8/xOKhWh7kEcU/s320/IMG_6453.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I found an unusual colorful piece of fabric for the border I had on hand </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zUVJWG18sFc/VrrMwdBNHcI/AAAAAAAAECI/VSa8hzfddCI/s1600/IMG_6025.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zUVJWG18sFc/VrrMwdBNHcI/AAAAAAAAECI/VSa8hzfddCI/s320/IMG_6025.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
and used some leftover squares and rectangles of the jellyroll </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-H7QNPy2oO-Y/VrrNFScNnFI/AAAAAAAAECM/zWuzNuVXez8/s1600/IMG_6449.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-H7QNPy2oO-Y/VrrNFScNnFI/AAAAAAAAECM/zWuzNuVXez8/s320/IMG_6449.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
for the back! It is fun to make quilts when you don't know the end results but are pleased when it is finished!</div>

I like pretty quilt backings and I really liked the colors of this floral - not sure if it's a Kaffe fabric or Philip Jacobs. I happened to have just enough of the plaid on hand to cut on the bias and use for the border. My first UFO completed for 2016!!</div>

Wahoo! I have just finished quilting the Bible Quilt that's been in progress for 16 years!! It's about time, I'd say!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1ncOI69qYrY/VrJpvuEsyPI/AAAAAAAAD_4/vLMANwi24HU/s1600/IMG_6424.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1ncOI69qYrY/VrJpvuEsyPI/AAAAAAAAD_4/vLMANwi24HU/s320/IMG_6424.jpg" width="288" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It's still hanging on the longarm but I was so excited I wanted to share! I know my embroidery is better by waiting but really . . .!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JjkqpzAUMhk/VrJpsyRfeDI/AAAAAAAAD_w/QCtVUbjmJZg/s1600/IMG_6419.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JjkqpzAUMhk/VrJpsyRfeDI/AAAAAAAAD_w/QCtVUbjmJZg/s320/IMG_6419.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_Vrn_in5AAU/VrJpstseWhI/AAAAAAAAD_o/1MpauO_sNE0/s1600/IMG_6420.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_Vrn_in5AAU/VrJpstseWhI/AAAAAAAAD_o/1MpauO_sNE0/s320/IMG_6420.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-QxVy_zC39Oo/VrJpsub8f1I/AAAAAAAAD_s/QLajOjK_sxs/s1600/IMG_6422.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-QxVy_zC39Oo/VrJpsub8f1I/AAAAAAAAD_s/QLajOjK_sxs/s320/IMG_6422.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I still have a hard time deciding how to quilt things with custom and also used about ten different threads to have things blend instead of stand out so much. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wxH8zbaPMkA/VrJpvX7dkXI/AAAAAAAAD_0/d4zVB_ITQow/s1600/IMG_6423.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wxH8zbaPMkA/VrJpvX7dkXI/AAAAAAAAD_0/d4zVB_ITQow/s320/IMG_6423.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This has been my handwork for the last week in the evenings. 12 little hexagons all ready for my Di Ford Mystery Quilt 2014, Part 3. Slowly but surely. I did enjoy piecing them - they are 1/2" size hexagons (each side) and I used the SewLine glue pen. I also punched a hole into the back of each paper for ease of removing but the glue seems to unstick fairly well.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7rlGPsX7_tw/VrJr8WM9UPI/AAAAAAAAEAE/fp27P7NDog0/s1600/IMG_6425.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7rlGPsX7_tw/VrJr8WM9UPI/AAAAAAAAEAE/fp27P7NDog0/s320/IMG_6425.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
As recommended by <a href="http://tatteredgarden.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Nancy</a>, I will starch them and remove the papers before I appliqué them to the border fabric. Happy Stitches til next time!</div>

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Sy0x-ens1uE/VqkHJ3PpQKI/AAAAAAAAD94/76bd11IIAs4/s1600/IMG_5347.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Sy0x-ens1uE/VqkHJ3PpQKI/AAAAAAAAD94/76bd11IIAs4/s320/IMG_5347.JPG" width="317" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It looks as though I can never keep up with a BOM project. Here is the Di Ford Mystery quilt from 2014. A few months ago I got the second border done and now am working on the third. Only quilters and appliquérs really have any idea how much time goes into these quilts but we do enjoy the process.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_i8BgQoigXQ/VqkHKeDPZ8I/AAAAAAAAD98/xCyIXxvOak0/s1600/IMG_5349.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_i8BgQoigXQ/VqkHKeDPZ8I/AAAAAAAAD98/xCyIXxvOak0/s320/IMG_5349.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I do like all the little circles and hexagons in the cornerstone.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HYltwfjx8T8/VqkHKYpEeUI/AAAAAAAAD-A/eb7qZd8uiEs/s1600/IMG_6067.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HYltwfjx8T8/VqkHKYpEeUI/AAAAAAAAD-A/eb7qZd8uiEs/s320/IMG_6067.jpg" width="269" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This is another Yellow Brick Road baby quilt made for my niece's baby girl. I've probably made this pattern 15 times or more through the years - so quick and easy but shows off fabrics nicely, too.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-sWnEmtCpRS0/VqkHNDt0EwI/AAAAAAAAD-Q/q7ZghIm3HK8/s1600/IMG_6074.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-sWnEmtCpRS0/VqkHNDt0EwI/AAAAAAAAD-Q/q7ZghIm3HK8/s320/IMG_6074.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I sewed up all the little scraps and made 3 dolly quilts and gave them for the baby and her older sister pictured below.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-yo9hD4TNEa8/VqkHNtuJTwI/AAAAAAAAD-U/-GA-v6bm0Kc/s1600/IMG_6088.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="185" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-yo9hD4TNEa8/VqkHNtuJTwI/AAAAAAAAD-U/-GA-v6bm0Kc/s320/IMG_6088.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Happy siblings showing off the quilt!! Of course they all have their quilts, too.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-9eWJh81rl3c/VqkHSomGECI/AAAAAAAAD-0/TRAqtVl1jDk/s1600/IMG_6119.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-9eWJh81rl3c/VqkHSomGECI/AAAAAAAAD-0/TRAqtVl1jDk/s320/IMG_6119.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This is another dolly quilt for my granddaughter that I made at Christmas. Really there are two but they are so much alike I'm just showing one. Probably 16" x 24" in size.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IQFEPX14PEg/VqkHTMLS5nI/AAAAAAAAD-4/JVxavKFoU_U/s1600/IMG_6120.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IQFEPX14PEg/VqkHTMLS5nI/AAAAAAAAD-4/JVxavKFoU_U/s320/IMG_6120.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Had some leftover minkee for the back also.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KEU570BXitI/VqkHQmNCOpI/AAAAAAAAD-s/r8Yw8wYWEA0/s1600/IMG_6095.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KEU570BXitI/VqkHQmNCOpI/AAAAAAAAD-s/r8Yw8wYWEA0/s320/IMG_6095.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And then when November rolled around, I decided to join the Bonnie Hunter mystery quilt, <a href="http://quiltville.blogspot.com/p/allietare-mystery.html" target="_blank">Allietare</a>! Five of six in my small group also made this quilt.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-IP7rALSOCTU/VqkHScYrkPI/AAAAAAAAD-8/ohoANM-mN6c/s1600/IMG_6107.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-IP7rALSOCTU/VqkHScYrkPI/AAAAAAAAD-8/ohoANM-mN6c/s320/IMG_6107.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Each section was really doable and I enjoyed using Bonnie's colors, too.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dekKO13MChU/VqkHWpGXz7I/AAAAAAAAD_Y/m4f9bd0MOSc/s1600/IMG_6289.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dekKO13MChU/VqkHWpGXz7I/AAAAAAAAD_Y/m4f9bd0MOSc/s320/IMG_6289.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This one took a little while but went together well.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-pcz_sgjnyyc/VqkHWHjkSMI/AAAAAAAAD_U/olV18hyUMn8/s1600/IMG_6343.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="279" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-pcz_sgjnyyc/VqkHWHjkSMI/AAAAAAAAD_U/olV18hyUMn8/s320/IMG_6343.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here is a portion as it hangs on the longarm rail.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1Iww2t4RNiQ/VqkHW7v89iI/AAAAAAAAD_c/re8boT1AZ9o/s1600/IMG_6345.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1Iww2t4RNiQ/VqkHW7v89iI/AAAAAAAAD_c/re8boT1AZ9o/s320/IMG_6345.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
A close up - and now I need to add borders and get it quilted. Happy Stitching!!</div>

I'm not sure where the month of November went! Well, I am, really, so here are a few pictures to share!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-OBwRz7Ex6HM/VmHbXgLrG6I/AAAAAAAAD7Q/hGgGnqxWN24/s1600/IMG_5667.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-OBwRz7Ex6HM/VmHbXgLrG6I/AAAAAAAAD7Q/hGgGnqxWN24/s320/IMG_5667.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
First of all, the quilt show in North Augusta, SC, where I entered my Words to Live By quilt. It was a great show and I feel honored to have won this ribbon - there were many great appliqué quilts.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xHHoDbVjYj8/VmHbW-wXOZI/AAAAAAAAD7I/hiNt7Bt9wpU/s1600/IMG_5671.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xHHoDbVjYj8/VmHbW-wXOZI/AAAAAAAAD7I/hiNt7Bt9wpU/s320/IMG_5671.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I was thrilled with the ribbon!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kZrcev5GLd8/VmHbaB8WAAI/AAAAAAAAD7g/uLIuAzALo3s/s1600/IMG_5811.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kZrcev5GLd8/VmHbaB8WAAI/AAAAAAAAD7g/uLIuAzALo3s/s320/IMG_5811.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here is my Black and White BOM I finished earlier this year . . . .</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SiDui1B0K14/VmHbatNMFjI/AAAAAAAAD7k/IbhkFM6inKs/s1600/IMG_5817.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SiDui1B0K14/VmHbatNMFjI/AAAAAAAAD7k/IbhkFM6inKs/s320/IMG_5817.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And last, my Botanical Garden. A really fun quilt to make, inspired by Sarah Fielke's book. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This show was on a Friday and Saturday and I left Sunday for Nicaragua for another mission trip. There were three of us ladies, carrying packages to 74 sponsored children at a Christian School there. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-uYkvJz9xYBc/VmHdwt-RTbI/AAAAAAAAD74/JFQ7z088_9s/s1600/IMG_5891.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-uYkvJz9xYBc/VmHdwt-RTbI/AAAAAAAAD74/JFQ7z088_9s/s320/IMG_5891.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here we are with all our bags, ready to leave.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-lnRX1RmrKm0/VmHdw6W5lGI/AAAAAAAAD8A/W-0LixwypX4/s1600/IMG_5900.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-lnRX1RmrKm0/VmHdw6W5lGI/AAAAAAAAD8A/W-0LixwypX4/s320/IMG_5900.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Sylvia shares more of Jesus' love to the children as we are getting ready to distribute the care packages while the children eagerly wait! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HfYNWe6lZRE/VmHdwcmEDVI/AAAAAAAAD70/HXr951ABh7w/s1600/IMG_5923.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HfYNWe6lZRE/VmHdwcmEDVI/AAAAAAAAD70/HXr951ABh7w/s320/IMG_5923.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I was able to see these children that my husband and I had sponsored in person! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-U2xyHdC6fPw/VmHdyrQcp-I/AAAAAAAAD8I/PgL69t4RCYI/s1600/IMG_5925.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-U2xyHdC6fPw/VmHdyrQcp-I/AAAAAAAAD8I/PgL69t4RCYI/s320/IMG_5925.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
What a joy. . .</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lvOPORxa-_w/VmHdzBxSAkI/AAAAAAAAD8Q/L5mamNsMApc/s1600/IMG_5929.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lvOPORxa-_w/VmHdzBxSAkI/AAAAAAAAD8Q/L5mamNsMApc/s320/IMG_5929.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
and this precious girl we have corresponded with for five years and now she is graduating from high school, wanting to become a nurse. They were all three graduating.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
We took the 15 graduating seniors on a day trip to Lake Nicaragua, lunch at a restaurant and to this gorgeous overlook at Catarina below.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
One little village we visited has no running water. This is the way all the people get their water - they go down this path past where the road goes, wash their clothes in the 'river', which is really a stream, bag their clothes up and fill their five gallon bucket and walk back up the hill to their home. Truly amazing!! A well has been dug nearby and now there is an effort to raise funds to pipe the water a couple of miles down the road so the people will have water at their homes. The path was difficult to walk down for us, yet they do it frequently.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Xdg3G6_OvQk/VmHiOHe-bNI/AAAAAAAAD84/EkAIIhWaHxg/s1600/IMG_5963.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Xdg3G6_OvQk/VmHiOHe-bNI/AAAAAAAAD84/EkAIIhWaHxg/s320/IMG_5963.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here is the 'river' where they have carved out areas to sit on the rocks as they wash their clothes.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-p_r0e43jD2U/VmHiSCFzrJI/AAAAAAAAD9c/cyDOrNWcGjE/s1600/IMG_5968.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-p_r0e43jD2U/VmHiSCFzrJI/AAAAAAAAD9c/cyDOrNWcGjE/s320/IMG_5968.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This little ten year old girl filled her bucket with water and waited to lead us up the path.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cyXD1yjiK0A/VmHiyHDxntI/AAAAAAAAD9o/i6iMu4APkks/s1600/IMG_5972.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cyXD1yjiK0A/VmHiyHDxntI/AAAAAAAAD9o/i6iMu4APkks/s320/IMG_5972.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
She would not go until we followed and she knew we would be okay, the whole time holding the bucket of water on her head. Amazing! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Another exciting thing is that a sewing ministry was started five years ago and many are graduating from this school and are able to have home businesses to make money to help support their families. It's great to see that sewing, which I love so much, reaches around the world to help others!!!</div>

My current UFO project is a Bible Quilt, pattern by <span id="goog_1554773185"></span><a href="http://janpatek.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Jan Patek</a>,<span id="goog_1554773186"></span> I began - oops - in the nineties, finally completed the appliqué in the 2000s and set it aside. It has embroidery work for the lettering and I was not real comfortable with that so, I put it away all neatly in my portfolio case. Since I have done so much work with wool in the last 3 years, I am no longer afraid of the lettering and hand stitching.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--Prq8rQ_DpA/VjN1SebxwNI/AAAAAAAAD6M/t8rQPT0-rFw/s1600/IMG_5621.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--Prq8rQ_DpA/VjN1SebxwNI/AAAAAAAAD6M/t8rQPT0-rFw/s320/IMG_5621.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
Here is block one and<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-WFiGQEBvusk/VjN1QathbnI/AAAAAAAAD6I/ZC6IFYSsvDg/s1600/IMG_5623.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-WFiGQEBvusk/VjN1QathbnI/AAAAAAAAD6I/ZC6IFYSsvDg/s320/IMG_5623.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
the picture of Jan's quilt on the cover. This was one of the first BOMs I had ever seen and it seemed SO expensive - it was $6.50 a month, and all I could think was that you could buy a book for $20 back then. Anyway, I liked it so much I bought it.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-uO9Mi8eyl7M/VjN1U4sVzhI/AAAAAAAAD6Y/YNapHT8b36k/s1600/IMG_5632.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-uO9Mi8eyl7M/VjN1U4sVzhI/AAAAAAAAD6Y/YNapHT8b36k/s320/IMG_5632.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
I used a lot of Roberta Horton plaids and stripes which were so easy to appliqué with the fineness of those fabrics.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-SqZ9q37jQqY/VjN1TKVkYHI/AAAAAAAAD6g/hfJUm1bI_AY/s1600/IMG_5622.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-SqZ9q37jQqY/VjN1TKVkYHI/AAAAAAAAD6g/hfJUm1bI_AY/s320/IMG_5622.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TkklK5A4If0/VjN19unFs4I/AAAAAAAAD6w/7a_0owdgM4M/s1600/IMG_5641.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TkklK5A4If0/VjN19unFs4I/AAAAAAAAD6w/7a_0owdgM4M/s320/IMG_5641.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
Here is my portfolio case. Only problem is, it holds the blocks so neatly you just let them age too well!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_iSVopZVfUc/VjN191UJm5I/AAAAAAAAD6s/_UMaAqt3j-M/s1600/IMG_5644.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_iSVopZVfUc/VjN191UJm5I/AAAAAAAAD6s/_UMaAqt3j-M/s320/IMG_5644.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
I put a pocket for the patterns on one side and<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-rQFsdf9J0Mk/VjN19iD_qWI/AAAAAAAAD6o/IYRREJrMv10/s1600/IMG_5645.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-rQFsdf9J0Mk/VjN19iD_qWI/AAAAAAAAD6o/IYRREJrMv10/s320/IMG_5645.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
the other side holds the blocks in place nice and flat. My first case was made by a friend and given to me and since then I've made a couple more to accommodate the size blocks I was making.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

I have another quilt finish to share! This could be called my 'quilt of the year'!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MyQsws-n8rE/VjD77w-qVKI/AAAAAAAAD54/_jbvc7kwxzM/s1600/IMG_5604.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MyQsws-n8rE/VjD77w-qVKI/AAAAAAAAD54/_jbvc7kwxzM/s320/IMG_5604.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I finished the top in the spring but waited until recently to quilt it. It took a while but was worth the time! This was the SBOW from<a href="http://www.primitivegatherings.us/" target="_blank"> Primitive Gatherings</a> for 2013. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8e1Dgb6O1vA/VjD7oCOHwoI/AAAAAAAAD5A/wrecswgn0lc/s1600/IMG_5527.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8e1Dgb6O1vA/VjD7oCOHwoI/AAAAAAAAD5A/wrecswgn0lc/s320/IMG_5527.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Lisa Bongean (the designer and shop owner) even had a lettering guide so we could 'write' our name. I really enjoyed stitching all this beautiful wool! Here are a few close-ups. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_D67PRTbvAk/VjD7pVAE3UI/AAAAAAAAD5M/gcXfnwOZQbE/s1600/IMG_5530.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_D67PRTbvAk/VjD7pVAE3UI/AAAAAAAAD5M/gcXfnwOZQbE/s320/IMG_5530.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This wording was not in the pattern but I feel it to have the most important words of all so I changed one of my blocks.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zOlaMYPOi58/VjD7meDCu4I/AAAAAAAAD48/f69-HhZ-Eyo/s1600/IMG_5532.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zOlaMYPOi58/VjD7meDCu4I/AAAAAAAAD48/f69-HhZ-Eyo/s320/IMG_5532.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Still on the longarm!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-WU69Rp58Tn0/VjD726xPd1I/AAAAAAAAD5c/8K0K2Iz73y8/s1600/IMG_5533.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-WU69Rp58Tn0/VjD726xPd1I/AAAAAAAAD5c/8K0K2Iz73y8/s320/IMG_5533.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Ar0M2Ah0Xxk/VjD73uyCygI/AAAAAAAAD5k/2ZwrXemI_fk/s1600/IMG_5539.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Ar0M2Ah0Xxk/VjD73uyCygI/AAAAAAAAD5k/2ZwrXemI_fk/s320/IMG_5539.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7KPeHBVgo9c/VjD77Ii-I4I/AAAAAAAAD5w/Dz0s4MuVjO4/s1600/IMG_5540.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7KPeHBVgo9c/VjD77Ii-I4I/AAAAAAAAD5w/Dz0s4MuVjO4/s320/IMG_5540.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Between 6 and 700 half square triangles. The biggest challenge of all!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-C0mCFU0BY1k/VjD77JCjUCI/AAAAAAAAD50/oQe1_YGO1Tw/s1600/IMG_5544.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-C0mCFU0BY1k/VjD77JCjUCI/AAAAAAAAD50/oQe1_YGO1Tw/s320/IMG_5544.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
There is a quilt show in<a href="http://phquiltshow.blogspot.com/" target="_blank"> North Augusta, SC</a>, on November 6 - 7, where I will put it to show. I'm still a member of this guild after living away for 16 years - a great group!!</div>

<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dO8dSejWuD4/Vi1NBHCJEZI/AAAAAAAAD3M/sAroWfPVkj8/s1600/IMG_5262.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dO8dSejWuD4/Vi1NBHCJEZI/AAAAAAAAD3M/sAroWfPVkj8/s320/IMG_5262.jpg" width="318" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This quilt is from the book below by Sarah Fielke. It was quite fun choosing all the fabrics, even though it took many days to pull it all together.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-uhq_-5dlEJg/Vi1Nl3Y4-pI/AAAAAAAAD4Q/f9UfMIEqObk/s1600/IMG_4739.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-uhq_-5dlEJg/Vi1Nl3Y4-pI/AAAAAAAAD4Q/f9UfMIEqObk/s320/IMG_4739.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Below is her version in the book.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JW1pRhZZFBY/Vi1NoVG61hI/AAAAAAAAD4Y/BOJDGzLZsas/s1600/IMG_4740.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JW1pRhZZFBY/Vi1NoVG61hI/AAAAAAAAD4Y/BOJDGzLZsas/s320/IMG_4740.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I laid out tons of fabrics on the table and begin sorting . . . again and again . . .</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-rDhJJR7m5jM/Vi1NPH2T-yI/AAAAAAAAD3g/TKY2pA0P9kU/s1600/IMG_4314.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-rDhJJR7m5jM/Vi1NPH2T-yI/AAAAAAAAD3g/TKY2pA0P9kU/s320/IMG_4314.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CYawd6GnR5c/Vi1NOx2OSKI/AAAAAAAAD3c/xxrtmng3e4U/s1600/IMG_4316.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CYawd6GnR5c/Vi1NOx2OSKI/AAAAAAAAD3c/xxrtmng3e4U/s320/IMG_4316.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I finally cut some and put the blocks together.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-llfnDxBFA2o/Vi1NN9imNfI/AAAAAAAAD3U/H0t5fgnPS5M/s1600/IMG_4323.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-llfnDxBFA2o/Vi1NN9imNfI/AAAAAAAAD3U/H0t5fgnPS5M/s320/IMG_4323.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And then changed those again and again. . .lots of decisions!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-NrgR9A0jpQI/Vi1NPlr5U1I/AAAAAAAAD3o/DB7TRhJH9SY/s1600/IMG_4325.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-NrgR9A0jpQI/Vi1NPlr5U1I/AAAAAAAAD3o/DB7TRhJH9SY/s320/IMG_4325.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Below it is coming together!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-h2-lMD9utms/Vi1NSHW9wpI/AAAAAAAAD30/6_gD9g1PkFQ/s1600/IMG_4340.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-h2-lMD9utms/Vi1NSHW9wpI/AAAAAAAAD30/6_gD9g1PkFQ/s320/IMG_4340.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-nwCYYkBBbUM/Vi1NSa7RG2I/AAAAAAAAD34/r0CDkWlVMKU/s1600/IMG_4370.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-nwCYYkBBbUM/Vi1NSa7RG2I/AAAAAAAAD34/r0CDkWlVMKU/s320/IMG_4370.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Above and below are auditions for that triangle. Honestly, either would work but which is the best?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-HxsGLo-2s_g/Vi1NSsPkJYI/AAAAAAAAD38/aQY6cK4py1I/s1600/IMG_4372.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-HxsGLo-2s_g/Vi1NSsPkJYI/AAAAAAAAD38/aQY6cK4py1I/s320/IMG_4372.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nN4Ke8tjGi8/Vi1O6Jv58AI/AAAAAAAAD4k/88y96RO3pPc/s1600/IMG_4378.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nN4Ke8tjGi8/Vi1O6Jv58AI/AAAAAAAAD4k/88y96RO3pPc/s320/IMG_4378.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here it is on the design wall . . .</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-yybsw6wRP9w/Vi1O6C5FoeI/AAAAAAAAD4g/dCjZ9AU7ez8/s1600/IMG_4397.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-yybsw6wRP9w/Vi1O6C5FoeI/AAAAAAAAD4g/dCjZ9AU7ez8/s320/IMG_4397.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
and still hanging on the longarm. </div>
